Despite of the more than 100 years old hulk, the gaff schooner Joanna Saturna still belongs to the latest Finnish sailing ships. Restored in a complex and affectionate way it today offers an absolute luxurious ambience for exclusive sailing trips.

The ship initially started its “career” as herring lugger at the Netherland coast. However, due to its type of construction the ship became unprofitable for the fishing industry during the 1920s and was sold to a shipping company in Hamburg. Then the ship operated as a motored cargo sailing ship between Hamburg and the Baltic Sea.

After the Joanna Saturna was sold several times to different shipping companies, it finally was brought to Finland was rebuilt into an impressive gaff schooner with a very luxurious interior. It contains a fully equipped kitchen, air-conditioning, central heating, and even a comfortable sauna.
